About Me

I have provided therapy and consultation services for the past 16 years. My client base includes individuals, couples, families, athletes, and non-profit corporations. In my role as a licensed therapist, I provide services to individuals and families with a myriad of issues and have developed specific expertise in the following areas: women’s issues, performance enhancement, couples in transition, grief and loss, trauma, military families, stress-management, and adolescent issues. My athletic base includes working with nationally ranked competitors in the following sports: long distance running, track and field, figure skating, and cycling. I am currently an EMDR certified practitioner and have extensive training in Strategic and Solution-focused therapeutic interventions.

I graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a degree in psychology and a minor in business and have a Master’s Degree in the Science of Counseling from San Diego State University. I competed as an All-American distance runner in college and was a competitive athlete with the Santa Monica and San Diego Track Clubs until I retired several years ago. In addition, I have 10 years of experience in executive management with San Diego Youth Services a non-profit corporation and I am currently a clinical consultant for this organization.

In my role as an executive manager of a non-profit, I took an active role in the agency’s strategic planning process, adjusted the agency’s infrastructure to accommodate clinical services and issues, and served as the agency’s HIPAA Privacy Officer where I maintained oversight of the legal and ethical aspects of the organization including the quality and integrity of the agency’s clinical programs. I also received funding for numerous innovative programs for at-risk youth and families that are still functioning today.

Currently, I serve as the Treasurer of the Board of Directors for the Family & Youth Roundtable (a family advocacy organization) and am a member of the Council for the Human Rights of Children. I am also a workshop presenter for Women Evolution/Women Creating the Circle in Which They Stand. My professional affiliations include membership in the following organizations: the California Association for Marriage and Family Therapists, the EMDR International Association, the Association for Applied Sports Psychology, and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists.
